Art has the ability to provoke thought and inspire action. As an Artist, it is part of my responsibility to raise this critical global issue in reducing waste and promoting sustainability. I was grateful to have the opportunity in working closely with Melbourne award winning firm, Wall Architect for Parlance Coffee at The Strand Melbourne.
The duration of this project took approximately 4 months. One such approach is through the installation based on recycled materials to create this rock wall in bring the originality of nature in a futuristic interior in the heart of CBD Melbourne. Which not only raises awareness about sustainability but also repurposes discarded items to create new, thought-provoking pieces of art in this urban city.
It can take various forms, including sculptures, installations, paintings, and mixed-media pieces. What sets recycled artwork apart is its emphasis on sustainability and its potential to spark conversations about our consumption patterns and waste generation.
By transforming these items into art, artists are able to give them a new life and highlight the potential for upcycling and repurposing as a means of waste reduction.
Recycled artwork also challenges traditional notions of aesthetics and beauty. Artists often experiment with unconventional materials, textures, and colors to create unique and thought-provoking pieces. By pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and utilizing unconventional materials, recycled art challenges our perceptions of what is considered beautiful or valuable, and encourages us to see the potential in discarded materials that are often overlooked.

Through June’s creativity and innovation, artist is repurposing discarded materials into meaningful and thought-provoking pieces that inspire others to rethink their relationship with waste and consumption. The striking realistic look of this rock wall is continue to strive for a more sustainable future, recycled artwork serves as a poignant reminder of the need to reduce, reuse, and recycle for the well-being of our planet and future generations
Parlance Cafe is also incorporating recycled materials into their product lines such as packaging and reusable coffee cups in front of the installation as an effort to reduce waste and promote eco-friendliness of our urban Melbourne and this world.
